Make sense of what's going on
The main purpose of couples therapy is to get you and your partner in a room to help you make sense of what’s going on. If you’re having trouble communicating with each other, then I am going to help guide you through talking about it. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) is a model of therapy that helps you learn and use new skills and strategies so that you can build a life that you feel is worthy of living.
Who is it for?
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy DBT was developed for people with borderline personality disorder. But it can help people with other mental health problems, including suicidal behaviour, self-harm, substance use, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and eating disorders.
Solution Focused Therapy
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) concentrates on finding solutions in the present time and exploring one’s hope for the future to find quicker resolution of one’s problems. This method takes the approach that you know what you need to do to improve your own life and, with the appropriate coaching and questioning, are capable of finding the best solutions.
What Is SFBT And Who Is It For?
Solution Focused Brief Therapy begins with what you are currently doing to initiate positive behavioural and lifestyle changes.I will then use techniques such as specific questioning, scales, empathy and compliments that will help you recognize your virtues, such as courage and resiliency, that have recently gotten you through hard times and are likely to work well for you again in the future.
